About TAT Licensing
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is the official government body responsible for licensing and regulating tour operators throughout Thailand. Established under the Tourism Authority of Thailand Act, TAT ensures that tour operators meet strict standards for safety, service quality, and legal compliance.
Under the Tourism Business and Guide Act, a company that sells tours in Thailand needs a tourism business licence. Licensed businesses are registered with the authorities, place a security deposit, and must follow the rules that protect travellers.
