Five Days in Phuket

Five days is the sweet spot for a Phuket holiday. You have enough time to do two major island tours, explore the cultural side of the island, enjoy beach days, and still have time for spontaneous discoveries. This itinerary provides a balanced framework that you can customize to your preferences.

Day 1: Arrival and Beach Exploration

• Morning/Afternoon: Arrive and settle into your accommodation. If you arrive early, head straight to the beach nearest your hotel.
• Late afternoon: Walk along the beach, swim, get oriented in your area.
• Evening: Casual dinner at a local restaurant. If in Patong, stroll along the beachfront promenade. If in Kata or Karon, enjoy a quieter seaside dinner.

Use this first day to acclimate to the heat, adjust to the time zone, and relax.

Day 2: Phi Phi Islands

Full day Phi Phi Islands speedboat tour. This is the signature Phuket experience.

• Back at hotel by 5:00 PM

Day 5: Flexible Day

Your last full day. Options based on your interests:

Option A: Third Island Tour

If you cannot get enough of the islands, add a Coral Island half-day trip or a full day to Similan Islands (if open, November to May).

Option B: Beach and Exploration

Visit a beach you have not been to yet. Rent a motorbike or car and explore the island: Big Buddha viewpoint, Kamala beach, Nai Harn beach, or the Bangla Road area if you have not seen it.

Option C: Activities

Try something different: discover scuba diving, zip-lining, Muay Thai class, or an ethical elephant sanctuary visit.

Evening

Celebrate your last night with a special dinner. Book a beachside table, try a sunset cruise, or revisit your favorite restaurant from the trip.

Families should consider replacing Day 2 Phi Phi with a Coral Island trip if traveling with young children, as the shorter boat ride and calmer water are more suitable for small kids. Snorkeling enthusiasts visiting November to May should swap Day 4 Phang Nga Bay for a Similan Islands trip, which offers significantly better underwater experiences.
